October 23 rd 2010 was a historical day for Health for All (HfA).
That day HfA received an appreciation Award from Satu Indonesia.
This prestigious Appreciation is given by the Republic to the developers of innovative programs making a contribution to a better Indonesia.
HfA received the Award based on the success of developing the Zero Breakdown Motorcycle Management Program.
This program is unique in Asia and was developed in East Flores, Indonesia starting in July 2002.
The process of seeking the candidates took place in August when
the organizers asked NGOs and Communities of varied fields to nominate the candidates to the judging committee.
This was followed by a phase of open verification in the field by Tempo Institution and Astra International Ltd.
During the first selection there 120 candidates which was then reduced to a shortlist of 20 for further verification.
Extensive debates were needed by the selection panel to make the difficult choice of the best candidates since each has its own
superiorities and varied difficulty factors.
After consideration of reports (including video and photos in the field) HfA was chosen as one of the five institutes to receive the award.
The bestowal of the award was done at Mekarsari, West Java attended by the representatives of the institutes winning the selection.
They came the day before fetched at Soekarno-Hatta Airport by Astra car and Mekarsari where the award was given presented.
Astra International Ltd is sure that the spirit to make a better Indonesia should come from the efforts of all of us and
will not just be dropped from the sky, Therefore Satu Indonesia Award appreciates the youth who have the spirit to create, instigate
and give the benefit to the people to the country, Indonesia.
The presentation of the award was made in a varied fruit forest and attended by an audience of 10,000 some of whom had to make a long
journey starting at 5am from their homes.
But although it look a long journey and some traffic jams the tiredness vanished as soon as entering the place.
It is in the middle of a varied fruits forest. Furthermore the place was conjured up into an amazing camps.
The program was enlivened with various Products Exhibition from Astra branches and its co-partners themed
around an "Exploration of Astra World".
After receiving the award from President Director of Astra International, Ltd. Mr Prijono Sugiarto,
the five winners (including the author) were taken around the exhibition and some (including Hfa)
were interviewed by Sonora Radio, Jakarta who relayed directly from the presentation.
Additional interviews with local and national media were also given.
